I never really know where to start when it comes to talking about myself. It’s not something I do very often. But since you’re here, I know that we have at least one thing in common– we always try to go the extra mile for our children.

The facts: My name is Noor. I am 30 years old. Married to a kind soul that shockingly puts up with my crazy (Saad). First time, working mom to a beautiful – and apparently very vocal- girl (Faye).

The background: Before I got pregnant, I was at the top of my physical fitness level. And I knew that after I had a child, I wanted to get back to that, and surpass it. That was one of the reasons Saad and I decided to start our joint social media page (@almallaks). With this account, we wanted to document our fitness journey, his passion for different sports and movements, set an example for our daughter on the best ways to lead a healthy lifestyle, and motivate others to do the same.In our food-focused culture filled with nights of eating out and gatherings, it’s very easy to get sidetracked. And we’re not immune to that. We’re not trying to be the best; we’re just a normal family, trying to find a balance between life, work, staying healthy and active, and most importantly - raising a happy child.

The offer: When the Nestlé team approached me to contribute for Mommy’s Corner by NAN®3, I cannot tell you how many things went through my mind. One of the biggest things was, “Why me?” But then I thought “Why NOT me?” Yes, I’m a first time mom. Yes, I am nowhere near being called an expert on motherhood. And yes, I probably won’t know what I’m talking about most of the time. But, isn’t that always the case with being a parent? I’m sure, that many mothers didn’t really know what they would be in for or what to do in a particular situation until they researched, asked, and experimented. And that’s exactly what I have been and plan on always doing.

The verdict: As a new mom, I always ask about everything and I ask more than one person. And, I have yet to receive a unanimous answer on anything; because each mom and each child are different. Their needs, wants, schedules and lifestyles are all different. So, at the end, I gather all the information, and make my own decision about how I want to deal with a situation, with my child.

I am learning as I go, and as I learn, I will share – and I hope that my experiences can help you better yours, even in the slightest.

Welcome to Mommy’s Corner by NAN®3!
